All Hail the Humble Paperclip!
We've been celebrating all things stationery this last month, and we thought it was time to give the humble paperclip some attention.
Paperclips are useful for so much more than just clipping papers together, although, of course, that is a great use for them.
We actually love paperclips so much here at Pogofandango, that we've just launched a pretty paperclip set of 12, featuring 6 different, super-cute shaped paperclips in the prettiest box - Check it out here.
Here are some less conventional uses for paperclips:
- Fix Zips: Replace a broken zipper pull by feeding a paperclip through the slider.
- Secure Tape Rolls: Stop losing the end of tape rolls by placing a paperclip under it before storing.
-
Unclogging Small Holes: Use an unbent clip to clear blockages in salt shakers, spray nozzles, or dried glue bottles.
- Cable Organizer: Tape paperclips to the edge of a desk to hold charging cables in place.
- Bag Sealer: Use sturdy clips to keep food bags sealed
- Key Ring: Twist a paperclip into a spiral to create a quick keychain.
- Clean Hairbrush: Slide a paperclip through the bristles of a hairbrush to remove trapped hair.
- DIY Ornament Hook: Shape a paperclip to hang holiday ornaments or decorations.
- Jewellery Link: Create a chain link to repair a necklace or bracelet in a pinch.
- Hem Holder: Use them as temporary pins to hold a fallen hem in place until you can sew it.
- Book Marks: Use a paperclip to mark your page
- Secure wrapping paper rolls: Hold the roll together with a paperclip to stop them unrolling and getting tatty whilst in storage
- Add extra pages to wire-bound notebooks: thread two paperclips through two of the wire bindings and clip in the extra page
- Hang Photographs on the Wall: attach a paperclip to the top of a photograph and use it to hang on a nail, or a pin in a noticeboard so you don't need to put a pinhole in your photo.
- Gift them: A beautiful set of paperclips makes a gorgeous small gift for stationery lovers... just saying!
Final Thoughts
Paperclips are seriously useful- let's all give them the attention they deserve!
