It's International Women's Day on March 8th, and if you've been with us for a while now, you'll know that we are an all-female team and we LOVE International Women's Day!
It's an excellent opportunity to celebrate the sisterhood and support female founders. Being a girl-boss can feel tough sometimes - it can feel like the odds are stacked against us. You can read more on why we need an International Women's Day here.
But that's enough on that!
We're here today to help you find your next favourite female-founded small business. Here are a few incredible small businesses that we are OBSESSED with, that you definitely need to check out...
Berry Blush Jewellery

Chiara uses second hand and unwanted beads and craft supplies that would otherwise end up in landfill, and she creates the most fun bag charms, earrings and other beaded delights. I love everything her products and brand stand for- ethical, sustainable and completely gorgeous products, with a neurodivergence and mental health focus. I treated myself to a pair of these bow earrings and I adore them. Find Chiara's Etsy shop here.
Lotus Flower Designs

Sam hand paints the most unbelievably beautiful pieces. She paints florals onto furniture and frames, and how gorgeous are those candle holders?! I bought one of Sam's cherry blossom postcards and I LOVE it! Plus, she's a lovely human. Check out Sam's Etsy shop here.
Wild Minder

Lucy's small handmade business is Wild Minder, where she creates symbolic wearable art, rooted in nature and folklore. Lucy creates her art using fabric paints and free motion embroidery, either giving existing items new life or creating new pieces like denim gilets from upcycled denim. Take a look at her gorgeous website, Wild Minder, here.
Rocky's Pet Products

Antonia, with supervision from one very good boy (that’s Rocky of course), creates crafting for pets kits that also felt like thoughtful gifts. The perfect gift for dog owners. Check out her website here.
Glow Glass Studio

Hannah creates the most gorgeous stained glass gifts in Yorkshire- I particularly love her Pokémon stained glass decorations! . Visit the Glow Glass Studio website here.
Tomo and Tale

Victoria is a textile designer and dyslexic northerner who embroiders people's handwriting onto keepsake gifts and they are stunning! Find her beautiful Etsy shop here.
Candi Co Jewellery

Gillian makes the sweetest jewellery from her Scottish home by the river, using quality materials with a focus on playful design and accessible prices. Find out more on her website here.
Happy Yellow Door Co

Hannah creates fun and colourful hand painted painted wooden storage & gifts in her studio in Essex. (I'm impatiently waiting to have grandchildren or another niece or nephew so I have a reason to buy one of these!) You can find her Etsy shop here.
Summing Up
This International Women's Day (and every day, really), you should support female-founded businesses, because they are brilliant. Of course, you can do this by making a purchase, but there are other ways to show your support. Go give them a follow on social media, interact with their posts, sign up for their email newsletters and recommend them to friends and family.
We've shared just a few of the amazing female-founded small businesses here that we love, definitely go check them out!
