18 Brilliant Non-Chocolate Easter Gift Ideas for Adults

Easter Gifts That Aren't Chocolate

Looking for non-chocolate Easter gift ideas for adults that feel thoughtful but not over the top? Whether you are putting together grown-up Easter baskets or just want a small seasonal surprise, there are plenty of options that do not involve sugar.

As a lactose-intolerant persistent-dieter, I can say with some certainty that chocolate is not my favourite gift. There's nothing worse than when someone gives you a gift that you cannot use, and either politely accepting it, only to have to pass it on to someone else, or, worse, awkwardly reminding the gift-giver that you cannot eat chocolate. It's worse when you know just how much you adore chocolate, but it's just not worth cancelling your plans for the weekend and just suffering the consequences of a dairy reaction. And while dairy-free chocolate is a thing, and it is getting better, not everyone wants chocolate as an Easter gift, and not everyone wants to give chocolate as an Easter gift.

We've gathered together some of our favourite chocolate-free Easter gift ideas for grown ups.

1. Scented Spring Candle

A fresh scent like linen, citrus, or wildflowers instantly feels like spring. It is an easy swap for chocolate in an Easter basket, and something most adults will actually use. Choose a pretty pastel candle for instant Easter vibes.

2. Mini Potted Plant

Think herbs, succulents, or small flowering plants. I love a succulent because they are pretty much plant-killer-proof. They last longer than sweets and brighten up a kitchen windowsill or desk.

3. Gourmet Coffee or Tea

Pick a locally roasted coffee or a loose leaf tea blend. This works especially well if you are building a themed Easter basket for adults. One fancy herbal tea that I always reach for when I want a treat is Taylor's Rose Lemonade - it's my absolute favourite!

4. Reusable Water Bottle

A stylish insulated bottle is practical and feels a bit more personal than a generic gift voucher. If your recipient is anything like me, they will almost certainly need to improve their hydration, and what better way to encourage that than with a pretty water bottle?

5. Bath Soak or Bath Salts

A small jar of Epsom salts or a luxury bath soak makes a great self-care Easter gift for adults. Bath bombs are another option here- some of them are so pretty that it feels a shame to use them. check out local gift shops for a small business bath related gift so you can see how yummy they smell first. I was recently gifted a jar of lavender bath salts and they are divine!

6. Silk Sleep Mask

Simple, useful, and slightly indulgent. It is a good add-on if you are creating a relaxation-themed Easter basket or hamper. I have recently started sleeping with an eye mask and oh my gosh it's the best sleep I've ever had! 5 out of 5, would thoroughly recommend.

7. Gardening Gloves

Perfect for spring, especially for green-fingered friends and family. Pair them with seed packets for a practical non-chocolate Easter gift idea.

8. Seed Packets

Vegetables, herbs, or wildflowers. Tuck a few into a basket or gift them on their own with a small note. Seed packets are also the perfect size to tuck inside an Easter card! My favourite seed packet gifts come from fellow small business, Border in a Box.

9. Hardcover Notebook

A hardcover notebook makes the perfect Easter gift - thoughtful, useful and oh so pretty! I mean, who doesn't love a new notebook?! Take a look at our new notebooks here

10. A Nice Pen

It sounds basic, but a quality pen feels surprisingly thoughtful. Plus, if you choose wisely, it will go perfectly with the notebook (just saying!). Take a look at our utterly gorgeous pens here.

11. Cosy Socks

Soft spring-themed socks are an easy win. Go for pastel tones or subtle patterns to bring the Easter vibes. Bonus points if they have a bunny on them, of course.

12. Books

A paperback is a solid non-chocolate Easter gift for adults who love to read. And if you're not sure on their reading tastes, get them a book token or a pretty coffee table book instead. One of my go-to backup emergency gifts is a beautiful pop up book, because, let's face it, everyone loves a pop up book!

13. Face Mask or Skincare Set

Sheet facemasks or travel-sized skincare products make a simple self-care treat. If your budget is a bit bigger, then why not put together a self-care hamper with a selection of skincare treats like moisturiser, bath bombs, nail polish and hair care products.

14. Local Honey

A jar of local honey feels seasonal and pairs nicely with tea or baked goods, plus local honey is great for hay-fever sufferers. Pick up local honey from craft markets, farm shops or independent high street shops for small business brownie points.

15. Artisan Soap

Handmade soap in spring scents like lavender or eucalyptus is a good alternative to sweets. Again, shop locally at farm shops, markets and local high street shops because small business is always better.

16. Picnic Blanket

With warmer weather coming, a foldable picnic blanket encourages outdoor time. It goes without saying, but go for handmade for better quality and small business love.

17. Board Game

A compact card game or travel-sized board game works well for couples or families. One of my personal favourite gifts to give is a vintage board game - they just feel so much more special. Of course, top tip when buying second hand board games- check that all the pieces are there first!

18. A Handwritten Easter Card

Sometimes, a handwritten message can mean the most- way more than any gift. Pair it with one small item and you have a thoughtful Easter gift that feels personal. Check out our laser cut Easter cards here
