Summer is Here!

The summer has well and truly hit here in the UK this week, and I'm writing this post from my desk with all the doors open and a desk fan blasting in my face. It feels like the right time to look at some lovely quotes about sunshine for two reasons. Firstly, it's sunny during the school holidays, which never happens. Like, ever.

And secondly, us brits are really good at moaning about the weather! If it's not too cold or too wet, or too windy, then it's too hot, too sticky...you get the idea. But the thing is, sunshine profoundly impacts mental health by regulating brain chemistry, sleep cycles and mood. Moderate exposure to natural light increases the brain's release of serotonin (the "feel-good" hormone), which improves focus, calmness, and overall happiness while reducing depression and anxiety.

Final Thoughts

I think everything just feels that little bit easier, lighter and brighter when the sun shines, even if it is 2748 degrees in the studio today... not that I'm moaning, of course. In fact, I'm off to enjoy a cheeky vegan ice cream in the sunshine, and I suggest you do the same!
