So you've got her some flowers and a beautiful card, but now comes the age old issue, what to write inside a Mother's Day card...
Don't worry, we've got your back. Here are some of our favourite messages and top tips for what to write in Mother's Day cards, from heartfelt and sentimental to funny and cheeky.
Do plan what you're going to write in the mothers day card before you start writing. It's much easier if you have an idea so you don't write yourself into a corner.
Don't scatter kisses randomly in your message. Save them for underneath your name.
Do say nice things. Flattery is everything. If she's an excellent mother, say so.
Don't worry if you make a mistake! Mum will probably think it's cute- after all, she's genetically programmed to think you're the best thing since sliced bread. But if you really want to cover it up, you can always stick a photograph in and write around it, or write your message on another piece of paper and stick it over the top of the mistake. No stress!
How to structure your Mother's Day message
1- Start with a greeting. "Dear Mum" is absolutely fine.
Alternatively try one of these-
To the best mum in the whole world,
To one of my favourite parents,
2- Add your main Mothers Day message. Quotes and funny stories work well here. We like to add a photograph for extra cute-points (yes, that is a baby Emma you spy). See below for some unique and brilliant examples of Mothering Sunday message ideas for cards. Wish her a Happy Mother's Day, thank her and say nice things.
3- Close your message and add your name. For example:
Lots of love from (name/s)
I/We love you so much, from (name/s)
