Great News!
It's been a long time coming, but now that we've moved, we have been able to sort out shipping to EU and NI again!
GPSR For Small Businesses
If you have no idea what I'm talking about, here's a quick summary:
The EU brought in the GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) in December last year, affecting all goods being shipped into the EU or Northern Ireland. These regulations were brought in to offer more protection to EU shoppers by ensuring that goods meet better safety standards.
This also means that all sellers outside the EU must appoint a representative who is inside the EU or Northern Ireland.
What does GPSR mean for small businesses like ours?
Well, it means we need to find a representative, and this has been tricky, to say the least.
Firstly, because we were due to move studios and I didn't want to start the complicated process and throw an address change in half way through.
Secondly, it meant we had to have some spare money to pay for it. I don't know if you noticed, but this last 3 years have totally kicked everyone's butts financially and spare cash has been, well, minimal.
And thirdly- everything felt a bit overwhelming. GPSR representatives have been tricky to find and tricky to trust. This has all been a bit of a learning curve for us, and I put it off for months because I just didn't know where to start.
Today, we finally sorted our GPSR
And we can now ship to Northern Ireland again from our website!
We've started offering EU shipping on our Etsy shop - check it out here.
For now, we're keeping our international shipping exclusively on Etsy, simply because Etsy offers great support with international shipping that we can't get anywhere else.
Thank you so much for bearing with us- I can't tell you how happy I am that this is sorted now!
