We are Pogofandango, a UK based, independent small business specialising in unusual greetings cards. Our cards are not like other greetings cards, in fact, some even say that they are a work of art, or a gift in themselves, and, well, who are we to disagree? If you haven't seen them yet, you're in for a treat! Take a little mosey over here to check them out.
So if you're new here, Hi! I'm Emma (the middle one in the photo at the bottom of this post), co-owner, chief doodler and blogger extraordinaire. By day I run Pogofandango, a small, Cornwall-based greeting card company, and by night I study for my masters degree (because I like chaos, before you ask).
Here are some interesting things we thought you might like to know about our small greeting card business:
We make everything in-house from our design studio. We draw everything from scratch and each card is made to order. There's absolutely no mass-produced anything here. That means we can usually accommodate extra changes or tweaks, you don't see big card manufacturers doing that sort of malarkey!
We laser cut all of our unique greeting cards using Trotec laser cutters. We currently have four laser cutting machines.
We are a small team of three, working from our small studio in Cornwall. If that's not the true definition of a small greeting card company from the UK, we don't know what is. We started as a mum and daughter duo, and Charis joined us 10 years ago. We had a little taste of growth and were, at one point, a team of 9! Since the pandemic, we've been a happy team of three, and have no plans to change this in the near future.
We like to do good things as much as possible, whether that's going plastic-free wherever possible, or fundraising for good causes. We once fundraised and bought a public access defibrillator for our community. That's the thing about choosing small, independent card companies over cheap, mass-produced ones- when you shop small, you support local communities, boost the economy and help with good causes. Let's not forget the whole excellent customer service and completely unique and unusual greeting cards. It's a win-win!
