5 Unusual Uses for Unique Christmas Decorations

Christmas Published Oct 10, 2024

Have you ever looked at your Christmas decorations and felt that they are just too pretty to sit on your tree for 5 weeks each year?

Me too.

That's why I've created a list of 5 alternative things to do with Christmas decorations. Let's give these beautiful festive ornaments the spotlight they deserve!

1- Christmas Gift Tags

Personalised Christmas decorations make marvellous gift tags. Not only are they a completely unique gift tag idea, but they also double up as an extra gift.

*Side note: Christmas decorations made fabulous and unique gift tags all year round (as long as they aren't particularly festive in design). I just used the words Christmas gift tags as the heading to appease the search engine algorithm.

2- Secret Santa Gifts

If you're looking for a fun Secret Santa gift idea, a personalised Christmas decoration is just the ticket. Especially if the person you're buying for is someone you don't know too well- it's a pretty safe bet that they have a name and a Christmas tree. Have you seen our Christmas decoration collection yet? Take a look here.

3- Add them to a Wreath

Who says decorations only belong on a tree? Make a wreath infinitely more fun by tying some cute Christmas decorations to it. This is not limited to Christmas wreaths, you could use some pastel coloured decorations on an Easter wreath, or reds and oranges on an Autumn wreath.

4- Christmas Table Decorations and Place Names

This works particularly well with personalised Christmas decorations. Our wooden star decorations make gorgeous, unique name cards, plus guests get to keep them as a thoughtful gift and reminder of the big day.

5- Year-Round Hanging Decorations

Who says that Christmas decorations are just for Christmas?! Before you rush to pack them away on January 2nd, you could always keep a pretty, non-festive Christmas decoration out all year. I'm not saying to keep a Santa ornament on the mantelpiece into the Spring months, but perhaps you have a hanging star decoration with your daughter's name on it that you could hang on her bedroom door, or a pretty glass ornament that would look lovely in your kitchen window. Hanging decorations are not just for Christmas!
